U.S. Treasury Secretary Calls Market Volatility a ‘Healthy Correction’

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has described the current market volatility as a normal and healthy correction. Despite concerns over some of President Donald Trump’s policies, Bessent remains unfazed.

“I’ve been in the investment world for 35 years, and I can tell you that corrections are healthy and normal,” he stated.

He further expressed confidence that, in the long run, the Trump administration will implement favorable tax policies, deregulation, and energy security measures—steps he believes will help stabilize the market and drive positive growth.

Trump’s aggressive expansion of trade tariffs has fueled market fluctuations, prompting his administration to devise policies aimed at easing affordability concerns and controlling inflation.

As a result, Bitcoin (BTC) recently experienced a sharp correction, briefly dropping below $80,000. Additionally, the S&P 500 index declined as Trump’s economic policies continue to raise concerns among investors.
