Bank Indonesia Holds Benchmark Rate at 5.75% to Maintain Stability

Bank Indonesia (BI) has decided to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 5.75%. Meanwhile, the Deposit Facility rate remains at 5%, and the Lending Facility rate stays at 6.50%.

“The Bank Indonesia Board of Governors Meeting (RDG) on March 18-19, 2025, decided to maintain the BI Rate at 5.75%,” said BI Governor Perry Warjiyo.

This decision aims to ensure economic stability while supporting Indonesia’s growth. Additionally, it seeks to keep inflation projections for 2025-2026 under control.

The move comes amid heightened global economic uncertainty, largely driven by the expanding trade tariffs imposed by the United States under President Donald Trump.
