The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has officially withdrawn its lawsuit against Ripple, a legal battle that began in 2020. The announcement was made on Wednesday (March 19).
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse personally confirmed the news, celebrating the long-awaited decision.
“This is the moment we’ve been waiting for. The SEC has finally dropped the lawsuit—this is a huge win for Ripple,” Garlinghouse wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
Following the announcement, XRP surged by 10%, reaching a price of $2.521. However, as of now, the SEC has yet to release an official statement regarding the lawsuit withdrawal.
