Microsoft and BlackRock have announced that Elon Musk’s AI venture, xAI, will join their ambitious $30 billion plan to develop AI infrastructure and data centers worldwide.
The initiative, called the AI Infrastructure Partnership (AIP), aims to allocate vast resources to AI facilities and expand them across multiple countries.
“AI infrastructure will play an increasingly crucial role in driving economic growth across every industry and region,” said Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella.
The collaboration may also attract additional investors, including pension funds and insurance companies, seeking long-term infrastructure investment opportunities.
Since its establishment in September 2024, AIP has drawn significant capital and strategic partners, fueling the demand for AI-ready data centers and power solutions.
