A high-net-worth investor, commonly referred to as a whale, recently moved 534 Bitcoin (BTC) worth $45 million (approximately IDR 742 billion) after remaining inactive for nine years.
The transaction was detected by BTC Parsers on block #888,655, originating from the address “1PqHk” using a Pay-to-Pubkey-Hash (P2PKH) wallet.
The funds were transferred in two separate transactions—236.31 BTC and 298.62 BTC—to the destination wallet “15PNy.” Notably, in March 2016, the Bitcoin in this wallet was worth only around $222,000.
This means Bitcoin’s price has surged an astonishing 20,272% over the past nine years.
The sudden movement of such a large sum has sparked speculation about the whale’s motives. Is the owner returning to the market, executing a new investment strategy, or simply consolidating assets?
So far, the Bitcoin remains untouched in the recipient wallet, leaving the crypto community guessing.
